Why Barbering Isn't Enough

"I'll always remember my first volunteer speaking engagement. Out of all the people and professions at this career day, these kids wanted to talk to the barber."

I give back through my involvement in several school mentorship programs and speaking engagements throughout New York City at places like Landmark High School. I was drawn to these types of speaking gigs after realizing just how many low income families have to send everyone in the household off to the workforce to make ends meet. For young people in this situation, there is much less opportunity to attend college stress-free, make good grades or even graduate.
