The blade drive is a wearable part of many Andis clippers and should be replaced on a regular basis. The rule of thumb is to change the blade drive every 30 to 60 days depending on grooming volume. Some signs that your blade drive needs to be changed include: its dark in color, there's increased vibration and sound during clipping, and a sharp, new blade is not providing a clean cut.
