Andis® Adds UK Grooming Educators to International Education Team

(July 2017) – Andis Company, an industry leader in small and large animal grooming tools and education, has expanded its UK Grooming Education Team to meet the growing demand for grooming education in this market. Joining the respected International Education Team to represent the UK are award-winning dog groomers Amy Manser, Julie Harris, Melanie Winters-Holmes and renowned equine groomer Melody Hames.

At Andis, we look for the best and brightest team members that not only bring a wealth of knowledge of the industry, but who also have varying passions and specialties to expand our collective educational expertise. Ultimately, I am looking for professionals that exemplify the Andis values of excellence, integrity and respect and are trusted members of the grooming community – these women all have that in common,” says Megan Mouser, Education Manager at Andis.

Amy Manser

Amy’s love for dogs started in her early childhood, which over the years developed into an award-winning career in dog grooming and showing, leading to her becoming a proud member of the Guild of Master Groomers, an accolade that less than 30 groomers hold in the UK, including each of the Andis UK educators. Amy has gone on to win countless BIS awards and is two-time winner of Groomer of the Year. In addition to her competition accolades, Amy runs a professional grooming salon, where she trains prospective groomers.

Julie Harris

Julie has been grooming since the age of 16 and has since become an industry leader, developing qualifications, teaching and pushing industry standards. She is a founding member of the English Groomers Group, and regularly demonstrates and delivers seminars around the country at all leading competitions and grooming events. Julie holds a LCGI teaching qualification and is proud to be a member of the Guild of Master Groomers. She has taught students of all ages from across the globe and considers herself extremely lucky to have an amazing role within the industry that she loves, by developing individuals and helping them to achieve their true potential.

Melanie Winters Holmes

Melanie Winters Holmes has been grooming for 27 years specialising in private training, corporate management and college tuition. She has won several grooming competitions including the title of Groomer of the Year. Melanie was a member of Groom Team England for 10 years and is currently a member of the Guild of Master Groomers. She is an examiner for the higher qualifications and City/Guild Practical Examinations. Today, Melanie is an active judge and gives seminars on a variety of grooming topics at major grooming events, as well as for private groups.

Melody Hames

Also known as “The Horse Barber”, Melody first discovered her talent for horse grooming at the age of 9 when she clipped her pet pony for the first time. Nineteen years later, Melody has developed a career travelling throughout the UK for both creative and traditional grooming engagements. Her grooming expertise spans many breeds and disciplines from hacks to hunters, as well as competition horses, show horses and maintenance clips for health conditions. In addition, Melody specializes in helping the most nervous of horses develop confidence.
